Solidarity initiatives to #StayHome
With our world being affected by the Covid-19 in RtW we believe that every difficulty can serve to re-invent us and that adversity allows us to show our most creative and supportive side. We know that the outlook may seem grey to many of us, we do not want to lose the strength that characterizes the RtW community 💪 and we want humanity to remain positive in the face of difficulties.
Given the social distance in which many countries find themselves, different initiatives have emerged from groups or individuals who, through platforms such as facebook, youtube or Instagram, can make confinement more bearable. Below we tell you some of them, which we have been very grateful for.
If you know them, they will make your day a little brighter… 👇👇
At a time like this we cannot be staying put. We must get up and move even if it is in our won house. One gym based out of the UK is here for us. #barryon started by Barry’s Gym have started doing workouts on Instagram live. These are great workouts that everyone is now able to access for free in their own homes. We home you check them out and always remember even times of sadness to keep your bodies happy and healthy by moving. #barryon
Some other international companies like #Nike are even creating apps that have hundreds of workouts on their app #NikeTrainingClub. This is a great opportunity for us at home anywhere to download this app and stay fit. Another company helping out during this time of sadness is #FitOn This interactice app has workouts for all levels and ages of fitness. From cardio to weight training and even pilates. Both of these companies are taking action into their hands and helping the greater community to stay active. If you are interested in any of these workouts you can check out barrysuk on Instagram and Nike Training Club or FitOn
Some other fun initiatives that are happening around the world outside of fitness are online cooking classes. Zena Leech-Calton of Love Norwich Food has started online cooking classes to keep parents and children busy while at home. These free classes are a great way to stay healthy and learn some really cool meal ideas. Though we are all stuck at home and the world around us is going through a difficult time we are fortunate to have people like Zena to take time out of their busy day and teach us these recipes. If you are interested in finding these classes they have every Tuesday and Thursday at 4:30pm (GMT) on their Instagram account @love_norwich_food
Do you join the solidarity challenge #BolyPasillo so that in Madagascar they have the means to face a health crisis like this one? You only have to get hold of used bags and plastics ♻ that you can find around the house, a rope 🧵y a pair of scissors ✂ and get to work to create your own solidarity boly 🧶. When you have your boly, we challenge you to a soccer match pasillo🥅. Don’t forget to share your challenge in your networks with the hashtag #bolypasillo and tagging @FundaciónAguadecoco and @runtheworld.co_es. More information about the challenge here.
This virus is affecting everyone but mainly our older adults so let’s keep an eye on them and remember how important they are to us and our responsibility to them.
Let us not forget that we are still at a red light but we are still alive and have a lot to do. At the moment there are many things we can do together to help stop this spread and help turn this red light into green and above all to make all that, something positive.
Share with us your solidarity initiatives in our social networks @runtheworld.co_en 🏡. We want to hear from you!
