Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
Departure to San José (SJO, Costa Rica)
You will arrive to San José's airport and a driver will be waiting for you in the pick-up area. We will head to Samara, for a 4-5 hours ride and take you to the hotel where you will spend the two next nights. You will meet the rest of the team and your fellow travelers. On that day, you will be able to relax, take a walk around the area, or simply enjoy the hotel’s wonderful surroundings and your first Costa Rican sunset.
Day 2: Introduction to the conservation project
We will wake up early in the morning, have a nice breakfast, a yoga session, and a first introduction to the impact project.
We will be attending a small presentation by the Agua NEA team, about the project and the activities to be carried out, and meet the Samara's corals project team who will introduce us to the instructors and marine biologists. In the afternoon, you will be able to prepare the next days activity, walk around or enjoy a tasty dinner with the whole team in a wonderful restaurant around.
Day 3: Take me to the sea
Today, you will get to experience a combined sessions of yoga and meditation on the beach where you will establish and intention for your upcoming journey. After breakfast, we will board a catamaran where you will get to snorkel, swim, and learn about the measures you can take to learn about how to take care of our beautiful ocean. We will learn how to build a coral reef and every necessary step it takes to restore this destroyed ecosystem. You will visit the Agua NEA coral sanctuary and observe how some of the underwater sculptures will become home to thousands of coral.
In the afternoon, we will drive to the Santa Teresa where we will see the most stunning sunset. You can surf in the water, do yoga, or just relax by the beach for the rest of the day.
Day 4: Trapped in paradise
Today you will wake up with the beautiful Costa Rican sunrise. We will have another opportunity to enjoy water activities or yoga. We will then explore our first Costa Rican waterfalls and explore the beautiful landscapes of the country. The afternoon will be a mix between free time, activities and a beautiful sunset. Here, you will really get to enjoy the simple things.
Day 5: Heading south
We will start our day by catching a bus to the boat that will take us to the southern part of the country. Here we can explore the "most intense natural park in the world". After our journey, you will arrive in another paradise.
We will finish the day off by sharing our memorable experiences with our host families and bonding with the rest of our incredible team with a beautiful dinner by the beach.
Day 6: The function begins
After a relaxing yoga session, we will venture off to discover the wonders of Corcovado and the incredible Drake Bay.
Day 7: Isla de caño
We will start off the morning with a yoga training session that aims to fill you with a calming energy and connect your mind and body. Finally, in the evening, we will have a big farewell dinner on the beach.
Day 8: The Corcovado National Park
Our morning will begin with our final mindfulness training session with the whole group. Here you will have the chance to share your thoughts and impressions of your adventure. After yoga, you will be provided with a full, wonderful breakfast.
Today is the day we begin our goodbyes. You will have the change to exchange final numbers, share photos, and give each other farewells.
We will return to Bali to arrive at the airport at midday so that you can fly in the evening or the next day.
Day 9: Back to San José
Sadly, today is the day we finally say goodbye to return home. For the rest of your life you will be able to recount your incredible experience, and build your excitement for the next RuntheWorld experience.
